Welcome to East Belfast Independent Advice Centre

It is with great sadness that we tell you that Phil Duke, our longest serving volunteer passed away on Friday 2nd June 2017 after a short illness.  Phil volunteered with EBIAC for over 10 years providing advice and support to many people.  Phil was the best of advisers.  He not only had a great knowledge of Social Security, Housing and Employment Law, he also had time for people, going to great pains to help them.  Phil was a great favourite with the people who use our service; he is a huge loss to EBIAC.  Phil was our friend and colleague and we will miss him terribly.

Since June 2000, the East Belfast Independent Advice Centre (EBIAC) has been providing free, independent and confidential advice on a wide range of issues to the east Belfast community.

We provide advice and advocacy on a on a wide variety of issues, including welfare benefits, tax credits, employment, housing and debt.

We offer services from the East Belfast Network Centre which is located at 55 Templemore Avenue.

In addition, we provide a number of specialist services, including a mental health outreach service and an advocacy service which includes representation at social security tribunals.

Volunteers are integral to the delivery of our services and are involved at all levels of the organisation. Our highly successful volunteer programme provides accessible accredited training opportunities to local people.
